UK Government works towards the 17 goals set by the UN and the World Economic Forum by enacting laws , for example:-
The UK path to Net Zero - A 2021 Gov document about how UK will get on the path to Net Zero and thereby unlock 90 Billion of private investment by 2030.
The 25year plan - Lays out the plan for a Green future improve the UK’s air and water quality and protect our many threatened plants, trees and wildlife species.
The Climate Change Act 2008 - Law which sets 2050 as a target date for the reduction of Carbon emmisions.
The Environment Act 2021 - The Act requires the Sectary of State to set at least one long term target in each of the four key priority areas: air quality; biodiversity; water; and waste. This will be achieved by a set of measures targeted at UK businesses and supply chains.
Providing Grants - Decarbonise the public sector by providing targetted funding.
6th Carbon Budget - The UK Climate Change Committee (CCC) lays out the UK path to Net Zero.
United Nations works with the World Economic Forum to achieve the 17 Sustainable development goals (SDG's).
Goal number 13 calls for urgent action to combat climate change and it's impacts. It is linked to all 16 of the other goals of the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development . Countries adopted the Paris agreement to try to limit global warming to below 2 degrees Celcius.

Get rid of farming! Climate Journalist George Monbiot on Youtube explains the problems of farming and water (lack of).
It is quite a shock if this is the first time that you have listened to George Monbiot. George says that the way we farm is destroying the soil . He adds a note of hope if we change our ways . Think of Adnams brewing our food instead of beer.

Not enough minerals. Physicist and energy expert Mark Mills talks on Youtube about some inescapable mineral realities.
The magnitude of the increase in total demand & supply for minerals in the next 20 years is in the order of 700% to 4000%. If ever this were to be achievable, it would represent the single largest increase in demand /supply of metals / minerals in all of human history. Mills says that this is simply impossible. It all comes down to the mining it is is not even an option in the mining sector .

One of the main points about the amount of Carbon Dioxide , and the temperature , is that they picked a low point on the graph as the start. So that means that of course the temp and CO2 is going up .
A mountain is much higher if you start measureing it from the ocean floor rather than the beach!
Air Pollution in Suffolk
WHO air pollution limits
The World Health Organisation has worked out what it thinks the maximum pollution levels ought not to exceed. These can be seen in the table. Try to compare the readings from your local monitoring site, to the levels given by WHO.
EXAMPLE: On 30th Oct 2023 at 10am, the readings at Norwich for
Ozone (O3) - 47.7, BELOW the WHO limit of 60
PM10 - 13.8 BELOW the WHO annual average of 15
Nitrous Oxide (NO2) - 12.24 ABOVE the annual average of 10.
Air Pollution Monitor: Sibton (nr Halesworth) only measures Ozone (oxygen with 3 molecules of Oxygen rather tha 2).
Air Pollution Monitor: Norwich
Air Pollution Monitor: Weybourne
Air Pollution Monitor: Cambridge Roadside
Air pollution in your location
This website addresspollution.org looks a bit amateurish but does seem to have a level of trust and support . the site says "Air pollution levels are constantly changing. We are using a model from Imperial College London based on the best data currently available. Please also check other sources for real time data or more recent measurements particularly if you intend to use this data to help you make any important decisions."
Click UK AIR to see the air pollution forecast
DEFRA provides a daily forecast of air pollution in the UK. If you wish to dig a little deeper then you can head over to the MET OFFICE which is where DEFRA gets it's information from.
The Met office says: "The Met Office air pollution forecast is generated from a regional model working on a 12km grid resolution, our forecast does not represent the very localised increases in pollution that you might find close to roads or in urban centres. The forecast represents the background and regional air quality away from these strong sources of pollution."
PROBLEMS: Any new systems need to actually work before you close down the old ones. Otherwise you are asking for trouble. Look at Germany and Sri Lanka for example.
Germany is fiing up the coal fired power stations in an effort to save it's industry particularly cars.
To keep the lights on, Germany is halting some wind power projects and burning lignite (dirty coal) instead.
Sri Lanka economy went broke when it just stopped normal industry and went green organic.

Is there such a thing as climate change or is it just weather ?
Climate change is definitely still happening. British Antarctic Survey has found fossilised leaves and wood in the Antarctic which only grow in a warmer climate. And obviously none grow in the Antarctic ice today. Or you could dig a hole, or go down to our own coast near Lowestoft in Suffolk and find some clay from the last time the ice sheets reached England. Obviously when you walk out of your Suffolk door today you will see plants and green grass rather than ice sheets and glaciers.
Politicians of all the larger mainstream political parties appear to agree with the World Economic Forum and others that the climate IS changing very fast due to global warming - a few hundred years at most but maybe only 10years ! And so they want to radically and permanantly change the way that we all live so as to reduce CO2 emissions . Carbon Dioxide emissions caused by human activity is said to be the cause of warming. In practice this means policies to do things such as :
gather humans together in large urban areas (15 minute cities), and re-wilding areas of countryside.
Food to become plant based factory produced .
reduce all traffic except walking and cycling (low traffic neighbourhoods eg Oxford UK)
ban fertilisers, ban ploughing , ban farming of fish and meat.
Ban private cars. C40 site gives clues as to why sadiq khan does things like ULEZ and his transport policies
Everyone wants cleaner air and water for example . But the concern that many people have is that an authoritarian one world Government is being introduced under the guise of saving the planet. Another step towards this was taken on 22 Nov 2023, when the UN voted to develop a global tax system. We will end up being locked down by the UN/WHO/WEF anytime it declares a climate or health emergency.
Questions about energy and smart meters.

Equity appears to mean that China and India are being allowed to catch up with developed Western nations. This appears to have started at the Paris accord of 2015 . Reuters reports that China won't max out on Carbon emissions till 2030. Another report from the UK in The Guardian appears to bear this out. But, do we trust China to max out in 2030 and then go green ?
